As we continue our dive into reading our own natal birth chart, I want to provide information about the 12 Houses on your Astrology Chart!

According to this amazing astrology book, here is the SIMPLE breakdown of each house. In my opinion, you can study astrology for decades, and still not know everything about it. It’s an artform that continues to unfold!

“The Houses are like territories. They are dimensions of the psyche, but also places and areas of everyday experience.”

You can look to the 12 Houses of your Natal Birth Chart and see which planets show up in which houses.

“The 12 Houses reveal which areas of life are the most important to you… Each planet will occupy one of the houses and any given house can contain more than one planet.”

Empty houses (without a planet inside) doesn’t mean that they are less important to the interpretation of your natal chart, however, the houses WITH planets may indicate where you have focus in this lifetime!

THE 12 HOUSE THEMES/RULES

• 1st House: New Beginnings / Self-Identity (always on the east/left side of the chart / Asc)

• 2nd House: Resources / Possessions / Money

• 3rd House: Communication / Siblings / Learning

• 4th House: Home / Family / Origins

• 5th House: Creativity / Romance / Children

• 6th House: Routines / Health / Everyday Life

• 7th House: Relationships / Partnerships / Marriage

• 8th House: Transformation / Intimacy / Shared Possessions

• 9th House: Adventure / Travel / Higher Education

• 10th House: Achievement / Career / Reputation

• 11th House: Friendships / Community / Social Life

• 12th House: Service / Self-Sacrifice / Seclussion

According to AstroStyle.com, The lunar nodes in astrology reveal your karmic path in this lifetime. The south node reveals your past lives and the gifts you’ve brought in. The north node shows the new direction you’re learning in this lifetime. They are always in opposite signs and houses.
